Kayla Johnson

Kayla Johnson is an award-winning director and producer. Her film Fatherless No More has won the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the 2025 Florida Film Festival and was nominated for Best Documentary at the 2025 American Black Film Festival. She is also a 4x nominee for Best Documentary at the Pan African Film Festival, British Urban Film Festival, Austin Film Festival and Best Georgia Feature winner at the 2023 Atlanta Film Festival as director of the Oscar-qualified film Fenom. She also served as a digital producer at ESPN where she produced original content for ESPN, NBA on ESPN and SportsCenter social channels. She produced content featured in live events like the College Football Playoffs, college basketball, and the Emmy-nominated Monday Night Football. She was a 2019 Webby Award honoree for creating the digital series Name the 90’s.
