Josh Leong

Josh Leong is a Webby Award®-winning writer and director from the NYU Tisch School of the Arts. He is the 2025 Writers Guild Collyer Fellowship winner and his film CHICKEN world premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. His upcoming series DARK SIDE OF THE MOON is in development with Annapurna Pictures. Josh was also a spotlight director with NBCUniversal’s Scene in Color Film Series, receiving a blind script deal from Universal Television.

His feature script LOST BOYS was an Academy Nicholl Fellowship semifinalist and was selected for the 2025 Gotham Week Project Market. Oscar-nominee Ruth Negga is attached to co-star in the film, based on Josh's original short, THE OTHER SIDE, filmed in Ethiopia and acquired by Peacock. THE OTHER SIDE was featured on The TODAY Show and stars Ethan Herisse from the Oscar-nominated film NICKEL BOYS.

Having screened at 10 Academy Award®-qualifying festivals, Josh also serves on-ground in Ethiopia building vocational training initiatives for vulnerable youth in local orphanages.
