Praveen Sethupathy
Praveen is Professor and Chair of the Department of Biomedical Sciences at Cornell University. He leads a research lab focused on genome-scale approaches to understand physiology and human disease. Praveen received his BA from Cornell and his PhD in Genomics from UPenn. After completing a post-doctoral fellowship at the NIH under the mentorship of Francis Collins, he moved in 2011 to UNC Chapel Hill, and then returned to Cornell in 2017. Praveen has authored over 150 peer-reviewed publications and has reviewed for 50+ different journals. He is a passionate advocate for curiosity-driven dialogue at the interface of science and faith. He has served on the advisory board of the AAAS dialogue on science, ethics, and religion; has served on the Board of BioLogos; is a regular speaker for the Veritas Forum; and is a mentor in the Veritas Faculty Scholars program. Praveen is also currently co-chairing a Provost’s initiative at Cornell on the Future of the American University.
